We recommend that you allow ample time for road traffic, especially during rush hours & expected bad weather.
Missing your flight could result in not only the loss of money for the flight booked, but additional expense at full fare
in order to get you to your destination. You do not want to be late. Toronto departures require a 90 minute
advance check in for Air Canada domestic flights, and up to 2 hours prior for domestic charter flights. Charter flights
do not have the same number of check in wickets as Air Canada, so we advise a bit more time for check in. A minimum
of 3 hours prior to departure is necessary for all scheduled flights into or through the United States from Toronto.
Peak travel times and small check in staffs can result in long lines. In addition, you need to clear US Customs once
checked in. Charter flights to the United States on Air Transat, Royal, and Skyservice, all require a 3 hour check in
period. Buffalo departures require a minimum of 1 hour prior to departure for check-in. If you are travelling to an
international destination, we strongly advise that you arrive at Toronto airport at least 3 hours prior to departure.
Check-ins take a little longer, as passport and documentation need to be checked. In fact, if you are leaving on a large
jet, especially if you are not flying on Air Canada, you may even want to get there a little earlier. |
