Air Transat has the cheap flights to Newcastle locked up. Quite often, last minute charter airfare to Newcastle is much more reasonably priced than schedule options with connections. There are flights once a week from Toronto to Newcastle with great fares, so you may want to also check flights to Glasgow if you are renting a car, as it is about 3.5 hours driving time. If you are departing from some other point in Canada, you cannot fly non stop without connecting through London or some other point. Airfares to Newcastle from cities where charters do not fly will likely be expensive. Consider flying into Glasgow, as there are twice weekly flights from Vancouver, Calgary, Ottawa and Halifax, and nearly daily flights from Toronto.
